TerreStar Genus Satellite Smartphone

This phone has some similarities to the New Moon edition of MyPhone handsets. The TerreStar Genus Satellite Smartphone is however bereft of any influence from the vampires.

The TerreStar Genus Satellite Smartphone comes with a 2.6-inch touch screen display and a full QWERTY keyboard. Connectivity is passable with GPS and WiFi to keep you connected to the world even when you’re mobile.

More than anything else, the main selling point of the TerreStar Genus Satellite Smartphone is its satellite communications capabilities. Smarter than most smart phones, this handset will become available first to small business customers, government and enterprises under AT&T.

The TerreStar Genus Satellite Smartphone is a good alternative to the Blackberry or the iPhone price-wise. The phone touts to be always in sync with EDGE, HSDPA, GSM and other networks. But when it fails to do that, you can always rely on the phone’s satellite capabilities.

But here’s a downer. The TerreStar Genus Satellite Smartphone comes with an unknown version of the Windows Mobile as its operating system. And if you think satellite connectivity is free, then be it known that it comes with roaming charges.
